Carrer d’Oriol Martorell i Codina, 6, 4art, 1ª

The 34 years of experience of the Pau Casals Association, born as a tribute to the maestro Pau Casals, his exceptional personality and values, guarantee solid experience in the creation, programming and organization of various festivals. These include Clàssics L'Escala-Empúries, the S'Agaró International Music Festival, Música i Músics.cat, Music in the Monasteries (Vallbona de les Monges, Santes Creus, Sant Ramon Nonat, Vilabertran, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Ripoll, Camprodon, Amer and Cervià de Ter), the Spring Festival of Peratallada, the Cadaqués Piano Festival, the Red Cross Music Festival, Clàssics a la Fresca de Roses, as well as Music in the Parks of Barcelona.

Furthermore, the Pau Casals Association of L'Escala develops various initiatives with a clear social focus, aimed at promoting equal opportunities and bringing music to new audiences. The goal is to transform concerts into accessible and inclusive spaces, where music becomes a universal language capable of fostering critical thinking and contributing to the development of more independent citizens.

International Classical Music Festival L'Escala-Empúries 2026

Once again, the Pau Casals Association demonstrates its strength by committing to a program that celebrates the dialogue between tradition, contemporaneity and innovation.

The concert season we present below is firmly established as a champion of contrasts and inclusivity, giving a voice to national and international artists, established musicians, and emerging young talents. This year, the Clàssics L'Escala-Empúries Festival offers a journey from Viennese classicism and medieval repertoire to tango, Mexican song, and film music, with performances that blend genres and instruments, and ensembles ranging from renowned soloists to full symphony orchestras, always with interpretive excellence as the common thread.

Each concert is an intimate marriage between music and its surroundings. The sounds rise where history is most tangible and the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea merges with the lush green of the Empordà region: in the Church of Sant Martí d'Empúries, the Church of Sant Pere de L'Escala, and L'Alfolí de la Sal.

Founded in 1992, the Pau Casals Association Festival celebrates its 34th edition this year. It has cultivated a loyal audience and become a renowned event in the region. At the same time, it offers the opportunity to experience memorable moments centered around classical music in venues open to both local residents and a large international audience, attracting high-quality cultural tourism, making use of underutilized spaces, and strengthening the area's tourism brand.
