Les Falles de Sant Pere in Ordino
In Ordino, the falles are burned during the Sant Pere festival on June 28th, as part of the parish festival. The fallaires make their torches in a workshop set up a few days before the festival and burn them, walking through the old town to a parking lot where they are accompanied by music and dance, including the performance of the Ball de Brujas by the Esbart Valls del Nord.
The true protagonist of the Sant Pere parish festival has been fire. Rooted since time immemorial in celebrations and festivals, usually linked to harvests and the countryside, the summer solstice is the time chosen to roll the "falles" (fireworks), which have been revived in Andorra thanks to the support of the Fallaires Association.
