National Day of Catalonia in Súria

Súria celebrates the traditional National Day of Catalonia once again!

The National Day of Catalonia on September 11th, commemorating the end of the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714, is declared the National Day of Catalonia. On this day, various institutional events and demonstrations are organized, and it is also a public holiday throughout Catalonia.

On September 10th, the Plaça Major in Poble Vell will host an event focused on international folklore. Traditional music and dance will take center stage in an evening designed to introduce the public to cultural expressions from other regions and offer an open-air performance in one of Súria's most emblematic settings. The event is free of charge.

The following day, September 11th, the traditional climb to the Tower to raise the Catalan flag will take place. The day will begin in the morning in Plaça de Sant Joan, with different options for reaching the Tower hill: by mountain bike, running, or walking.

Once at the top, the main event of the Diada will take place with the raising of the Catalan flag, the reading of the manifesto, and the singing of Els Segadors. Popular culture will also play a prominent role, with various traditional performances and exhibitions. To round off the morning, a communal lunch will be offered to participants.
