  3. Lecture series at the Camp…
8 November
Tona

The Camp de les Lloses archaeological site in Tona will host a series of lectures over three Sundays in November, exploring the representation of bodies, sexuality, and social imaginaries throughout history, art, and archaeology. The sessions will take place on November 8, 15, and 22 in the morning.

The event will bring together various specialists who will address how the body has been represented, interpreted, and imbued with meaning throughout different historical periods. The first day will focus on the female nude in art history and the figure of Saint Sebastian, analyzed from its artistic and symbolic dimensions.

The second session will allow us to go back to the European Paleolithic to reflect on the representations of bodies and their possible meanings, before delving into the conception of sex in ancient Rome, among norms, values and social behaviors.

The cycle will conclude with a conference dedicated to the relationship between body, beauty and sexuality, followed by a discussion space that will allow for a deeper exploration of the issues raised and the sharing of different points of view.

Organized by Camp de les Lloses, the program offers an opportunity to approach history from a cross-cutting perspective, combining archaeology, art and social reflection.
