Popular chestnut festival in Encamp and El Pas de la Casa

Encamp and El Pas de la Casa celebrate the popular Castañada, an event designed to keep alive one of the most beloved autumn traditions and share a pleasant time with family or friends.

The celebration will take place simultaneously in both towns starting at 6 p.m. In Encamp, the meeting point will be Sant Miquel square, while in Pas de la Casa the activity will be concentrated in the Church square.

The highlight of the afternoon will, of course, be the distribution of freshly roasted chestnuts. The aroma of the chestnuts and the autumnal atmosphere will transform the two squares into meeting places where young and old alike can enjoy this tradition so closely linked to All Saints' Day.

The proposal is simple and popular, designed to bring the Castañada (chestnut festival) to everyone and offer a chance to socialize outdoors. It's also a great opportunity to go for a walk, meet up with family and friends, and enjoy one of the most characteristic flavors of this time of year.

The activity is free and the chestnuts will be distributed until supplies run out, so it's worth arriving early and letting yourself be carried away by the festive atmosphere.
