Modernist Market Fair in Canet de Mar

A new edition of the Modernist Market Fair is coming to Canet de Mar!

For an entire weekend, streets and squares will be filled with decorations, costumes, historical reenactments, and activities designed to transport the public back in time. The fair will combine cultural, artistic, recreational, family-friendly, and culinary offerings, creating an experience open to residents and visitors alike.

The program will include shows, performances, guided tours, exhibitions, lectures, and children's activities, all aimed at highlighting local heritage and the unique character of this event. There will also be market areas, demonstrations, and participatory activities that will help recreate the modernist spirit and social dynamism of that era.

In this edition, gastronomy will be the main theme. The fair aims to highlight that a good meal is much more than just eating; it's a way to share, converse, celebrate, and strengthen family and social bonds. Around the table, memories are created, shared experiences are forged, and moments of togetherness are enjoyed, all of which are an integral part of our collective life.

Thus, the Modernist Market Fair will invite the public to discover flavors, traditions and forms of relationship linked to gastronomic culture, maintaining the festive and heritage character that defines it.

The Fira Mercat Modernista is a project that began in 2008 with a dual objective: to promote Canet de Mar as a municipality of tourist and cultural interest, linking it with the figure and work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner and, at the same time, to involve associations, entities and citizens in a common city project.

A proposal to stroll, enjoy, learn and let yourself be carried away by the charm of an era that comes back to life in the heart of the municipality.
