Modernist Market Fair in Canet de Mar

The Fira Mercat Modernista is a project that was born in 2008 with a double objective: to make Canet de Mar known as a municipality of tourist and cultural interest, linking it with the figure and work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner and, in turn, involving associations, entities and citizens in a common city project.

During a weekend the historic center is dressed in elements, atmosphere and figuration completely from the last century. The streets dress up for a party, and are filled with all kinds of activities, with demonstrations of trades, crafts, theatrical performances, music, exhibitions, cultural routes, guided tours of the architectural heritage, shows and workshops for children, entertainment and parades, commerce in the street, painting, sardanas, giants, which allows us to relive the atmosphere, customs, clothing and spirit of the years of modernism.
