It is a multidisciplinary recreational and cultural space in which the people of Castellón relive with enthusiasm and with an open spirit to the festival, their past and the splendor of the county of the Middle Ages, when the capital of the county of Empúries was a land of troubadours and the Counts of Empúries were protectors and patrons of troubadours and minstrels, and even authors of lyrical compositions following the art of finding, as is the case of Count Ponç Hug IV (1277-1313) or Infante Pere I (1325-1342).
The media echo and the magnitude of the festival has made it an important event at the national level, it has crossed borders, it has participated in other national and European festivals with international co-productions, it has participated in medieval days programmed by Catalan universities and it has been the cover of the most important magazines of medieval popularization.
