Pig slaughter festival in Montgai
Montgai celebrates one more year the Slaughter of the pig!
The Montgai Pig Slaughter has been celebrated since 1983 to remember the work that was formerly carried out in farmhouses for the survival of the family during the year.
On Saturday a group of volunteers from the town at 4 in the afternoon begin to prepare the meat to make the mandongo.
On Sunday morning, the traditional popular breakfast is celebrated with toasted bread, oil, salt, herring and wine. Then the sausages and sausages are made and the beans are cooked. Finally, the party ends with a meal, dance and different activities. A meeting in which traditional gastronomy is the protagonist.
