Experience the total eclipse in Ulldecona!
Ulldecona is preparing for an exceptional experience surrounding the total solar eclipse, a unique astronomical phenomenon that will transform the town into a prime location for observation and discovery. To mark this event, the Patrimonium 2026 program offers a special schedule combining astronomy, heritage, music, outreach, and sensory experiences.
The program invites the public to delve deeper into the knowledge of the sky and how celestial bodies have been observed, interpreted, and experienced throughout history. There will be informative talks on archaeology, architecture, and astronomy in the ancient Mediterranean, as well as a session dedicated to understanding what an eclipse is, how it occurs, and how to observe it safely.
The activities also include family-friendly options such as the Traveling Planetarium, which offers an immersive and engaging way to discover the movement of the sky, the phases of the moon, constellations, and other fascinating aspects of the universe. Additionally, stargazing in La Miliana will provide the opportunity to observe the night sky with the naked eye and through a telescope, in a peaceful environment with minimal light pollution.
One of the most special moments will be the eclipse viewing from Ulldecona Castle, an emblematic location where heritage and astronomy converge in a unique experience. The day will combine safe viewing of the phenomenon, live music with the duo Terrae, performances, themed cuisine, and a stage design created to intensely experience the moments of totality.
The program will be completed with a binaural sound experience that will transform the eclipse into an artistic and immersive experience.
An invitation to look at the sky, discover the territory and experience Ulldecona as a privileged setting amidst light, shadow, science and emotion.
