Passion Play is Catalan Popular Culture and one of the oldest theatrical traditions in all of Europe.

The beginnings of the cultural tradition date back to the year 1477, when we have the first historical reference to the birth of the tradition in Catalonia, thus becoming the oldest tradition of the representation of the Passion of Christ.

A tradition recognized as part of our country's cultural heritage.

The Catalan Federation of Passions was established in 2015 with the essential aim of making it possible to maintain this Catalan cultural and popular tradition, which is already part of the history of Catalonia, with representations of the Passion documented as early as the 15th century.

It is also worth noting the great task that the different Passions carry out in educating in values that are so important in the society in which we live, in which entities are needed that act as integrating elements and global education.

There are currently 22 Passion Plays in Catalonia that are members of the Federation: The Passion Play of Argentona, the Living Way of the Cross of Castelló d'Empúries, the Passion Play of Castellvell, the Passion Play of Cervera, the Passion Play of Constantí, the Passion Play of Cunit, the Passion Play of Clot-Barcelona, the Passion Play of Esparreguera, the Passion Play of La Bisbal de Empordà, the Passion Play of La Cava, the Living Way of the Cross of La Escala, Come to Me, the Passion Play of Llinars del Vallès, the Passion Play of the Last Days of Jesus of Mataró, the Passion Play of Olesa de Montserrat, the Passion Play of Sant Climent Sescebes, the Living Way of the Cross of Sant Hilari Sacalm, the Autosacramental Play of Sant Vicenç dels Horts, the Passion Play of Ulldecona, the Passion Play of Vilalba dels Arcs, He Who Gives Testimony of Vilanova and la Geltrú, The Passion of Vila-Sacra and Christ has died for us of Vilassar de Mar.
