Federació Catalana de Passions Ulldecona
La Pasión is Catalan Popular Culture and one of the oldest theatrical traditions in all of Europe.
The beginnings of the cultural tradition date back to the year 1477, from which there is the first historical reference to the birth of the tradition in Catalonia, thus becoming the oldest tradition of representing the Passion of Christ.
A tradition recognized as cultural heritage of our country.
The Catalan Federation of Passions was established in 2015 with the essential desire to make possible the maintenance of this Catalan cultural and popular tradition, which is already part of the history of Catalonia, with representations of the Passion documented as early as the 15th century.
It is also worth noting the great task that the different Passions do in educating values that are so important in the society in which we have had to live, in which entities that act as integrative elements and global education are needed.
Currently there are 22 passions of Catalonia that are members of the Federation: The Passion of Argentona, the Living Via Crucis of Castelló d'Empúries, The Passion of Castellvell, The Passion of Cervera, The Passion of Constantine, the Passion of Cunit, The Passion of Clot-Barcelona, The Passion of Esparreguera, The Passion of La Bisbal de Empordà, The Passion of La Cava, Living Via Crucis of L'Escala, Come to me, The Passion of Llinars del Vallès, The Passion Last Days of Jesus of Mataró, The Passion of Olesa de Montserrat, The Passion of San Clemente Sescebes, Living Via Crucis of Sant Hilari Sacalm, Autosacramental of San Vicente de los Huertos, The Passion of Ulldecona, The Passion of Vilalba dels Arcs, He Who Gives Testimony of Vilanova and the Geltrú, The Passion of Vila-Sacra and Christ has died for us by Vilassar de Mar.
