Lo Mas de la Cuixota

The Ebro Delta Natural Park is located at the mouth of the Ebro River, in the province of Tarragona, between the regions of Baix Ebre and Montsià, in the southernmost part of Catalonia.

The Ebro River, the most voluminous river in the Iberian Peninsula, carries the sediment eroded from its headwaters and deposits it here, at its confluence with the Mediterranean Sea. The climate is typical of the Mediterranean, with an average temperature of 17ºC, high humidity, and little rainfall.

Activities

The Ebro Delta is a unique ecosystem where tranquility, climate, flora, and fauna combine in an exceptional way. There are few places in the world where these elements coexist with such harmony.

That's why, from Lo Mas de la Cuixota, we offer you a selection of activities designed so that you can enjoy, discover and get to know every corner of this privileged environment up close.

School activities

For 25 years, Lo Mas de la Cuixota has offered a wide variety of activities in schools across the country, designed to introduce children of all ages to the Ebro Delta. Through these experiences, students can discover our traditions, the local culture, and some of the most beautiful spots in our region.

Pole-powered boats. At Lo Mas de la Cuixota, we want to pass on to the youngest children the values and knowledge passed down from past generations. We do this through traditional activities like pole-powered boats, where an instructor introduces children to the art of sailing a boat propelled by a pole.

Agricultural experience. Rice and rice paddies are undoubtedly one of the great treasures of the Ebro Delta. The lives of our ancestors have always been closely linked to this grain, so this activity offers an immersion in a culture essential to our region.

We want children to learn, feel, and appreciate all the work that goes into every plate of rice that reaches the table.

Bike excursions. There's no better way to discover the Ebro Delta and connect with its landscape than by hopping on a bike and exploring the different routes offered by the Natural Park.

Cycling between lagoons, visiting viewpoints and observing the flora and fauna of this privileged environment allows for a special bond to be created between the visitor and the territory, and helps to further appreciate this unique ecosystem.

Kayaks. Kayaking is an ideal way to experience a direct connection with nature and the environment of the Delta.

This activity allows both children and adults to explore the hidden corners of the Delta wetlands at a leisurely pace, enjoying every detail of this rich ecosystem. Furthermore, it is an environmentally friendly activity, a key aspect for the sustainability of the Natural Park.

Fishing Art Workshops. Discover the art of traditional fishing in the Delta and learn about the different tools used by our ancestors, as well as the native fish species of the Delta lagoons.

The activity lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and includes a monitor to carry out the demonstrations, as well as the necessary materials to perform it.
