Parties and celebrations

The Ebro Delta is a unique place of flavors, life, nature and senses. For this reason, there are many celebrations that take place.

Blend is one. The Terres de l'Ebre cuisine, landscape and tourism exhibition. An event that is held on the banks of the Ebro River where Ebrense restaurateurs and Michelin stars make all the visitors salivate with their show cooking. Also other activities such as live music nights or tourist routes, among others, make them days of unique flavors, colors and sensations.

The Rice Festivals are also part of the essence of Deltebre. During the month of June the Fiesta de la Plantada is celebrated, which recovers, through staging, how this agricultural work was carried out during the 19th century. A day of culture, music, performances, games and much more. During the month of September, the Fiesta de la Sega arrives, an event that shows the historical essence of the Ebro Delta through the demonstration of the traditional harvest. Also, of course, other activities are carried out: games, traditional market, exhibitions, contests, etc.

The Ebro Delta is also a place for sport and activity. In fact, in April the Tritour is celebrated, the triathlon with the greatest projection in the province of Tarragona. Swimming in favor of the current of the Ebro River, fast cycling and a stretch of running on flat feet mean that the participants can enjoy a unique sports day while contemplating the incredible landscape of the Delta.

The Ebro Delta

The Ebro Delta is the largest wetland in Catalonia, with an area of 320 km2. It constitutes one of the most important aquatic habitats in the western Mediterranean.

The balance between its natural wealth and exploitation by man has never been easy, for this reason, in 1983, the Generalitat of Catalonia approved the creation of the Ebro Delta Natural Park, which occupies the Montsià (right hemidelta) and of the Baix Ebre (left hemidelta).

Of the populations that form part of the right hemidelta, we highlight Amposta, which together with its districts (Balada and Poblenou del Delta), has a greater representation of inhabitants. The interpretation center for the lagoons of the Ebro Delta Natural Park is located on the Encanyissada Raft.

From the left hemidelta, we highlight the town of Deltebre, where we find the headquarters of the Ebro Delta Natural Park.

A place that, without a doubt, is worth discovering with the 5 senses.
