Rice Day in l'Ametlla de Mar

The Rice Day is a traditional festival in l'Ametlla de Mar, and one of the most renowned gastronomic festivals in the Terres de l'Ebre. This year it is celebrated from 5pm in the Port of l'Ametlla de Mar, in the Contrapunta or New Brotherhood.

Its main objective is the promotion of local gastronomy, characterized by its preparation with fresh fish and seafood that is caught by the same fishing fleet of l'Ametlla de Mar.

Cooking experts say that the fish and seafood from l'Ametlla de Mar takes on unique nuances and flavors, due to the proximity of the Ebro Delta, and the richness of nutrients obtained when the fresh water of the river meets the Mediterranean salt water.

The Rice Day also aims to involve the local population in tourism promotion and at the same time maintain traditions and promote gastronomic products. This festival, already popular, is included in the Gastronomic Fish Days of Lonja de l'Ametlla de Mar, which are held every year around the month of October.
