Oil cycling route in Mont-roig del Camp

Oil is one of the most outstanding agricultural products of the Baix Camp. Made mainly with Arbequina olive, it gives a unique product of excellent quality. Softness, complexity, elegance and a spicy touch in its flavor make our extra virgin olive oil a true treasure of gastronomy.

The route that we present wants to show how and where the olive trees are grown from which will come one of the most appreciated extra virgin olive oils of Arbequina in the world, recognized in almost all the municipalities that make up the route by the Protected Denomination of Origin Siurana.

The Oil Cycle Tourism Route runs through seven oil-producing villages; Reus, Riudoms, Montbrió del Camp, Vilanova d'Escornalbou, Mont-roig del Camp, Cambrils and Arcos.

The itinerary, which is circular and therefore can begin and end in any of the towns that the route includes, runs along flat paths suitable for all types of cyclists. During the tour you will enjoy the agricultural landscape of this environment, a soft and friendly, rural and Mediterranean landscape. In addition to olive groves, there are also pleasant garden crops, hazelnuts and carob trees, typical of the Baix Camp.

During the route you can visit different spaces related to oil such as cooperatives, mills, museums and interpretation centers. On the other hand, deviating a few meters from the paths that make up the itinerary, you can also visit other points of interest such as the modernist buildings of Reus, the birthplace of Gaudí in Riudoms, the old town of Arcos, the Montbrió sundials of the Camp, the Arbocet watchtowers, the stately homes of Vilanova d'Escornalbou, Mas Miró or some dry stone barracks in Monroyo or the fishing village of Cambrils, among many others.
