Carrousel Costa Brava. Palafrugell spring festivals
The Palafrugell Spring Festival is one of the most deeply rooted and traditional festivities in the city. The central and most recognized act of the festival is the Carrousel Costa Brava, a parade of floats and troupes, both local and from all over Catalonia. The parade is on June 4 starting at 5:30 p.m.
This celebration has its origins in the 1963 ban on carnival. At that time, the Board of the Fraternal Center decided that the carnival should be held the same way, but changing the month and name, to avoid a new ban.
The Spring Festivals have become an event for Palafrugell that involves the entire population through different activities. The program of events for the festival is very varied, with a wide range of cultural, sports and musical offerings.
