Carousel Costa Brava. Palafrugell spring festivals

The Palafrugell Spring Festival is one of the town's most deeply rooted and traditional celebrations. The central and most renowned event is the Costa Brava Carousel, a parade of floats and troupes, both local and from all over Catalonia. The parade takes place on June 7th, starting at 5:30 pm.

This celebration has its origins in the banning of carnival in 1963. At that time, the Board of the Fraternal Center decided that carnival should still be celebrated, but by changing the month and name, to avoid another ban.

The Spring Festival has become a major event for Palafrugell , involving the entire community through a variety of activities. The festival program is very diverse, offering a wide range of cultural, sporting, and musical events.
