Vila-seca Carnival

The Vila-seca Carnival is back for another year, with several events scheduled!

Organized by the Vila-seca Carnival Committee, this celebration is considered one of the most fun festivals of the year. During these days, it's common to see pirates, clowns, witches, or even unicorns strolling through the streets. Children and adults alike take to the streets dressed as their favorite characters or objects, creating a festive and colorful atmosphere.

The Carnival festivities begin on Fat Thursday, a day marked by fun and gastronomy. The centerpiece of this celebration is the spectacular Carnival Parade, where troupes parade in their costumes and on their floats, captivating the attention of all those present. Also during this day, the award for best poster and the gold, silver, and bronze prizes for best costumes are presented, recognizing the creativity and effort of the participants.

On the last day of the festivities, after the funeral procession, Carnival bids farewell with a sardine feast and a popular hot chocolate gathering, an event known as the Burial of the Sardine. This tradition symbolizes the end of Carnival and the beginning of Lent and is an opportunity to enjoy a good meal with family and friends.
