Pratdip Llegendari is a family festival that wants to transport attendees on a journey through time through activities, spaces, scenes and magical corners.

Throughout the festival there will be free workshops for the little ones in the house, with traditional games, storytelling and a shouting contest... There will also be proposals to surprise visitors throughout the festival such as a parade and legendary dances.

During the festival , the gastronomic space will offer visitors a restaurant area where they can relax. You can also find taverns and food trucks, food stalls and craft beer.

THE LEGEND

One of the most fascinating fantastic legends of Catalonia is the one told by the inhabitants of Pratdip. This is the legend of dips. The dips are black, demon-possessed wolf dogs that chose the mountains of the Sierra to inhabit them. From time to time, and only at night, they were seen, showing their dark silhouette on the horizon, making their eyes shine defiantly in the darkness or frightening men at night in the same town; But what most worried the Pratdipenses was the misfortune of finding their flocks attacked still with the marks of the fangs with which the dip had sucked their blood.

The relationship between the dips and the people is inseparable, and the dips still build the identity of Pratdip. Although etymological sources point to several origins, the dips have accompanied the name of Pratdip since its birth, identifying it as the meadow of the dips. The dips appeared represented for the first time in the Santa Marina altarpiece of 1602; Later they did it in 1730, in another altarpiece, in which they took a more fierce and defiant image, and, later, they ended up presiding over the municipal shield.

Joan Perucho, in his work Natural Stories, is inspired by dips to create a vampiric and mutant character set in modern times; This is how the author is responsible for internationalizing the figure of dip, more specifically Onofre de Dip, who lived in Pratdip castle, through one of the few vampire characters in the Catalan imagination. Today, the dip, with a friendlier image, is found in the dip monument at one of the entrances to the municipality, and through a tourist itinerary we can see it in different corners of the town.
