Hostalric 1810: Historical recreation camp

Hostalric travels back to the Napoleonic era with Hostalric 1810: Historical Reenactment Camp, which will transform the castle and its surroundings into a grand stage dedicated to the military history of the early 19th century.

Over the weekend, various historical reenactment groups will set up a Napoleonic encampment where visitors can discover what daily life was like for soldiers. The public can observe scenes related to military training, guard duty, weapons maintenance, clothing, and traditional cooking, all within a setting designed to make history visually accessible and engaging.

The program will also include guided tours of Hostalric Castle and the encampment, led by the same reenactors. These tours will provide a better understanding of the fortress and the strategic role Hostalric played during the Napoleonic Wars.

One of the most spectacular moments will take place at the Mas Bossom fields, where a battle simulation will be held with demonstrations of combat techniques.

On Sunday, the camp will remain open to the castle and guided tours will be repeated, completing a weekend especially suited for history buffs, families and visitors interested in heritage.

A unique opportunity to discover Hostalric through historical reenactment and to get closer, almost two centuries later, to the military life of 1810.
