Remei Festival of Alcanar

Alcanar celebrates the Remei Festival once again! Days full of excitement, tradition, and community spirit to share with family, friends, and visitors.

The festivities will retain some of their most traditional events, such as the opening proclamation, the crowning of the festival queens, the parades, the giants and big-headed figures, and the formal dances. The streets and squares of Alcanar will be transformed into meeting places during these days, with live music, exhibitions, cultural activities, and festive events.

One of the highlights will be the Remei Festival, which includes the traditional pilgrimage to the Remei Hermitage, featuring floats, horses, carts, and the Municipal Band. At the hermitage, religious services will be held in honor of the patron saint, accompanied by music, sardana dances, and the traditional distribution of the Remei Paella.

The program will be rounded out with family shows, concerts, films, sports activities, exhibitions, heritage tours, and activities for young people. There will also be opportunities to explore local history and discover some of the municipality's heritage sites.

The final stretch of the festivities will feature a new parade of floats, music, and a fireworks display to conclude several intense days of celebration.
