A circular route through Canalda, very short and simple to enjoy the wonderful landscape of Solsonès.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Distance: 5km
- Time: 1:30 a.m.
- Slope: 260 meters
We leave in front of the church of Sant Julià de Canalda, go up the stairs, turn right towards Cal Baró and pass behind this house. Further on we leave two trails that descend to the right.
We go up the open path to the rock making a zigzag on the edge of the Riera de Canalda, we go down in a northeasterly direction through the Serrat del Castell and we go back up the other slope in the opposite direction to the descent. We take a track that goes to the left and at the second detour we go to the left, to the right we find Puig-arnau, a group of houses where a small hermitage dedicated to Saint John the Evangelist stands out and a large laundry room from 1913 where they could wash up to sixteen women.
We continue along a flat track that later becomes a path where we can enjoy a botanical itinerary. Soon we find red and white graffiti that indicate that we are at a crossing point of the Long Distance path, GR1.
If we continue a few meters upstream, we will see a spectacular waterfall with a drop of 45 metres, the Torrent de la Perdiu. Keep in mind that it is a torrent and does not always bring water. The path crosses the stream and later becomes a track.
We continue down the track, we cross the Canalda stream and we go up the other side following the same track where we arrive at the Devesa de Can Prat, we cross this beautiful forest of Martinense oaks, we pass behind the Can Prat farmhouse and we go down the the road to Sant Julià, where we left from.
