Throughout the old town of Constantí, different scenes from the Passion of Jesus Christ are reenacted!

Constantí has had its own Passion of Christ since 2019, promoted by the Associació d'Amics del Teatre de Constantí "Les Forques", a cultural entity also responsible for other productions such as Els Pastorets or the Living Nativity Scene.

The Passion Play takes place in several streets of the town's old quarter and in open spaces such as squares and historical monuments. The play depicts the main scenes of Jesus' last week, including the Entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus before Herod, Jesus before Pilate, the Stations of the Cross, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. In addition, one or two new scenes are added each year, varying to offer fresh perspectives and present new theatrical challenges, such as the scene of the leper and the children, the resurrection of Lazarus, or the calling of the apostles.

The Passion of Christ in Constantí is performed on Easter Sunday, as part of the Holy Week celebrations, with the participation of nearly one hundred people, including actors and extras, and has become established as one of the most outstanding Passion plays in the Camp de Tarragona region.

Don't miss it!
