Major Festival of Sant Cosme and Sant Damià in Vandellòs

Summer ends and the Fiesta Mayor arrives, in honor of the town's patron saints Sant Cosme and Sant Damià in Vandellòs!

The festivities will begin with the traditional ringing of the bells, the arrival of the town crier, and the opening proclamation, followed by the presentation of the heir and her ladies-in-waiting. A community reception and various performances will round out this first day, which will then give way to the evening activities.

Over the next few days, there will be culinary offerings such as the traditional clotxada (a type of Basque flatbread), children's shows, sardana dances, concerts, dances, and youth activities. The program will combine traditional events with activities designed to allow everyone to enjoy the Fiesta Mayor (main festival) from morning until late into the night.

Popular culture will be one of the main focuses of the celebration. Vandellòs will host a menagerie display, a popular procession, and a grand correfoc (fire run), with the participation of various festive elements and fire-breathing groups that will parade through the town's streets.

There will also be plenty of sporting and recreational activities, traditional gatherings, costumed figures, giants, and religious ceremonies honoring the patron saints. The main festival will conclude with shows and a closing fireworks display.
