Bàscara is part of the Alt Empordà region, province of Girona. The municipal term has an extension of 17 km2 and 66 m. of altitude. The limits of the municipal term are to the north with Pontós, to the east with Vilaür and to the south west with Vilademuls. It has added the nuclei of Calabuig, Les Roques and Orriols.
