Main Festival of the Barri Castell (Ulldecona)
The Barri Castell neighborhood (Ulldecona) is preparing for another edition of its annual festival, a few days designed for residents to reconnect, take to the streets, and share moments with family, friends, and neighbors. The celebration maintains the essence of neighborhood festivals: close-knit, participatory, and with a welcoming atmosphere that invites everyone to join in.
The program will begin with a firework display, followed by a card tournament, a tribute to senior citizens, a community toast event, and a karaoke night with prizes and surprises. These initial events combine tradition, community spirit, and a desire to have a good time.
Over the following days, the festivities will continue with music, afternoon activities, children's events, a bar, tapas, and sandwiches, creating meeting places for all ages. There will also be activities related to the local area, such as a visit to the Molí de Fibla mill with olive oil tasting and a raffle for local products, as well as a frying pan competition and water inflatables for the little ones.
Traditional events will also play a prominent role, with bullfights, a bull with flaming horns and an evening dance, in addition to the solemn mass in honor of the patron saint Sant Joaquim, a popular refreshment and a stew to share on the riverbank.
The Barri Castell Festival is an opportunity to leave routine behind and enjoy a few days of vibrant community life, with activities for all tastes and ages. It's a festival made possible by the dedication of the Festival Committee, volunteers, organizations, and collaborators who work to ensure the neighborhood remains a vibrant space, full of community spirit and identity.
