International Music Band Competition "Vila de la Sénia"

La Sénia is preparing to host the 18th edition of the Villa de la Sénia International Band Competition on April 11th and 12th, an event firmly established as one of the most important on the country's band calendar. The competition, organized by the Senienca Musical Association with the support of the La Sénia Town Council, will bring together amateur bands from across the region and beyond Catalonia.

A maximum of six bands, with members ranging from 51 to 100 musicians, may participate. Among this year's new features is the option for each band to freely choose their required piece from five different options, all listed in the regulations. Based on their chosen piece, each band must prepare a concert program with a maximum duration of 45 minutes, which will be evaluated by the jury.

The competition will kick off with the traditional mandatory parade of the participating bands, followed by the competition concerts, which will take place throughout the weekend. The organizers plan to offer financial aid of up to €7,000 per band to help cover travel and participation costs.
