Gemma Humet concert at the Musicveu Solidarity Festival

Gemma Humet, singer and pianist, is one of the brightest and most distinctive voices on the Catalan music scene today. Her work is characterised by a clear influence of singer-songwriter and protest songs, a genre that has left a deep mark on the Catalan Countries over the last few decades.

Whether as a soloist, with four albums published under the Satélite K label ( Si canto enrere in 2015, produced by Pau Figueres; Encara in 2017, produced by Carles "Campi" Campón; Màtria in 2020 and Rere tot aquest fum in 2022, both produced by Jordi Casadesús), or collaborating with legendary guitarist Toti Soler on the joint album Petita Festa (Satélite K, 2018), Gemma Humet has established herself as one of the most committed and versatile voices of recent years.

This has led her to receive awards such as the Enderrock Award from the public for the best Songwriter album of 2015 ( Si canto enrere ) and the one from critics in 2020 ( Màtria ). In addition, she has collaborated in more than 30 recordings and has toured the country and various parts of Europe (France, Switzerland, Belgium...) with her concerts.

At Musicveu, she presents her new live show, "Miralls". Under the artistic and stage direction of Lluís Danés, Humet confronts herself in an intimate and introspective format, alone on stage with the piano and her voice. With this proposal, she strips her songs of any embellishment and reflects on the works of artists who have marked her career, from Joan B. Humet, Toti Soler and Lluís Llach, to more contemporary references such as Clara Peya.
