Els Pastorets in Guissona

Next Friday, December 26, 2025, at 7 p.m., the Ateneo Municipal Theatre of Guissona will once again be filled with light, humor and emotion with a new performance of Els Pastorets del Centro, a heartwarming production that has become an essential event on the town's Christmas calendar.

The story begins amidst the peaceful life of a group of shepherds led by the indomitable Bato and Borrego, two endearing and hilarious characters whose routine is disrupted by extraordinary news: a child has been born in Bethlehem who, by all accounts, could be the long-awaited Redemp. From there, a path unfolds filled with adventures, obstacles, and uproarious moments.

With the ever-providential help of the angels Michael and Gabriel, the shepherds will have to face the cunning of Lucifer and Satan, who will do everything possible to prevent them from reaching the manger. But the story still holds one more surprise: the appearance of Uriel, a slave who flees his master and whose spontaneity and humanity will bring a fresh perspective and a good dose of emotion to the plot.

Under the direction of Joan Garcia and Jaume Mercadé, this version of Els Pastorets combines tradition, humor and moments of great intensity, creating a show designed to make young and old smile and keep the magic of the festivities alive.
