La Nostra Mel
They are a family of beekeepers from the Segarra region who work hand in hand with nature to offer the most precious treasures of their landscape. They dedicate themselves to the artisanal production of products born directly from the hive, capturing the essence and purity of their land, and work together, combining experience and respect for natural rhythms.
Through their apitourism experience, they open the doors to their daily lives so that visitors can discover the fascinating world of bees up close and connect with the natural environment of La Segarra. The activity is designed for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest members of the family, and combines learning, excitement, and firsthand experience, making it both an educational and experiential activity.
The experience begins with a theoretical explanation to understand how bees function, their organization within the hive, and their importance to the balance of ecosystems. Next, visitors dress in beekeeping suits to experience the activity safely and with excitement. One of the most special moments is the visit to the hives, where they can observe the bees' activity up close in their natural environment and even have the opportunity to handle a frame themselves, always accompanied and guided by the family.
Next, the visit moves to the workshop, where you'll see how the honey is extracted from the frames and the entire production process, from harvesting to packaging. Finally, the activity concludes with a tasting of their products, a sensory experience that allows you to discover the different flavors, aromas, and textures offered by their honey and other bee products.
At La Nostra Mel, each product is the result of a slow and meticulous process: from the care of their bees to the hands of the recipient, they ensure that the soul of La Segarra arrives intact and authentic. This experience allows you to live and share this passion, creating unique and lasting memories, as sweet as their products.
Would you like to become a beekeeper for a day?
We invite you to a unique experience immersed in the world of bees with a guided tour of our apiary. During the activity, you'll don beekeeping gear and enter the apiary to observe the bees up close, open the hives, and discover how a colony functions and how honey is made.
Throughout the visit , you'll learn about the daily life of beekeeping and what really happens inside a hive. To finish, you'll enjoy a tasting of different varieties of honey and other bee products, such as pollen and the renowned mead.
Are you a school or do you represent an educational center?
If you're coming with a group of students, we also offer apitourism visits designed specifically for schools. This experience allows students to discover firsthand the importance of bees in pollination, biodiversity, and food production.
