Bisbal d'Empordà Correfoc

La Bisbal d'Empordà is preparing to experience one of the most anticipated and emblematic moments of its Fiesta Mayor: the Correfoc, a spectacle of fire, music and tradition that transforms the streets of the old town into an intense, vibrant and exciting stage.

Unlike other correfocs, Bisbal's has a very distinct personality. It's not led by a group of devils, but by the Dragons of Bisbal, essential figures in the local festive imagery. The Dragon of Dragons and the Replica Dragon illuminate the night with sparks, fire, and spectacular dances, accompanied by the powerful sound of percussion.

The festivities begin with a countdown and the explosion of firecrackers, announcing the start of a magical night. When the lights go out, the town enters a new dimension: smoke, gunpowder, music, and fire take over the streets, creating a unique experience for all.

The route passes through different areas of the historic center, with particularly intense moments such as the dragon dances, the presence of the gigantic Rigoberta and the mythical Tunnel of Death, one of the most impressive points of the correfoc, where sparks and smoke create a spectacular atmosphere.

The celebration culminates with a grand fireworks display, bringing to a close a night filled with adrenaline, excitement, and Bisbal identity.

To enjoy the correfoc safely, it's essential to be well-protected with cotton clothing, a scarf, a straw hat, and appropriate footwear. A must-see event for lovers of fire, folk culture, and the vibrant nights of the Fiesta Mayor.
