Terrània Festival in Montblanc

Terrània was founded in 2003 by a group of local ceramic artists who proposed to the City Council the creation of an international festival dedicated to artistic and decorative ceramics. From its first edition, it established itself as a pioneering event in Catalonia, distinguished by the exceptional quality of the pieces on display and the growing interest of its audience.

The festival's main objective is to showcase a type of ceramics that is often overlooked in Spain, beyond the utilitarian tradition that often comes to mind when this craft is discussed. Therefore, Terrània is committed to bringing this creative world closer to visitors through high-quality exhibitions, technical demonstrations, and workshops aimed at all audiences.

The name Terrània originated with the same group of ceramicists from Montblanc and was quickly adopted to identify the festival. On the one hand, it makes direct reference to the earth—along with fire, an essential element of ceramics—and evokes the deep roots of this craft in the region. On the other hand, it connects with the Mediterranean as a shared sea, culture, and geographical space, reinforcing the festival's international and open dimension.
