Come and experience the Tabaca Film Fest - The Mythological Film Festival of the Pyrenees in Gerri de la Sal ( Baix Pallars )!

The third edition of the Tabaca Film Fest returns to Pallars with a 10-day program that will include 15 film screenings, 60 short films, music, workshops, theater, talks and other cultural activities that will thrill lovers of mythology, film and Pyrenean culture, in a unique and incomparable setting.

This year, the festival will be inspired by mythological animals and symbolic beasts, a common thread that will run through different spaces and activities of the program.

The Tabaca Film Fest is the first film festival dedicated exclusively to mythology. When the project began, there were no similar events, but as the concept was developed, a unique festival took shape, exploring the symbolic and timeless power of myths through the language of film.

The initiative was born from a love for the Pallars Sobirà region, its legends and landscapes, and from a desire to preserve this intangible heritage, connecting the local imagination with the global. The festival has found the ideal home in Gerri de la Sal, thanks to the unique space offered by the Reial Alfolí and the warm welcome and involvement of the entire local community.

With an international focus, Tabaca seeks to recover stories from around the world and foster cultural exchange between peoples, promoting quality cinema that explores mystery, enigma, and ancestral spirituality. It is also a space for reflection: why, even today, can we not live without myths?

The festival celebrates cinema that fascinates and unsettles, inviting us to look beyond everyday reality. All of this takes place under the symbolic protection of the Parnassius apollo, the endangered Pallaresa butterfly whose divine name accompanies its majestic flight over the Pyrenees peaks.
