Lleida International Music Band Festival in Torrebesses

Torrebesses joins a new edition of Fem Banda, Lleida International Music Band Festival, an initiative that brings music to different municipalities and promotes cultural exchange between groups from various territories.

The New Church will be transformed into the setting for a concert featuring the Orchestre de Harmonie La Garonne, a French ensemble that will bring to the town the rich sound and expressive power of band music. The performance will allow the audience to enjoy a special evening in a unique heritage setting, where music and architecture will converse to create an intimate and moving atmosphere.

The festival originated as the Germans Roig i Torné Music Band Festival, created in 2004 to coincide with the Sant Miquel festivities. Over the years, the event grew, moved to the summer calendar, and transformed into the current Lleida International Music Band Festival.

Fem Banda champions values such as solidarity, cooperation, effort, and collective participation. Through music, the festival helps bring together peoples, cultures, and sensibilities, demonstrating that the language of music can move and connect people regardless of age, background, or prior knowledge.

The presence of international bands makes each concert an opportunity to discover new repertoires, performance styles, and musical traditions. It also highlights the role of bands as spaces for training, community, and cultural transmission.
