Balaguer celebrates the San Juan festival!

The Feast of Saint John is a festival celebrated throughout Catalonia in many different ways. In Balaguer, this popular celebration stands out for its liveliness and tradition, featuring music, bonfires, firecrackers set off by the Devils, the traditional Saint John's cake, and the arrival of the Flame of Canigó. This flame, which symbolizes Catalan unity and identity, is one of the most emblematic elements of the festival.

The Feast of Saint John is a series of celebrations marking the summer solstice, the shortest night of the year and the moment of maximum solar exposure. Although the solstice is celebrated on June 20th, the main festivities take place on the night of June 23rd to 24th, coinciding with the saint's day. Saint John's Day is a communal celebration that exalts life and love, and is an ideal time to gather with friends and family around a bonfire.

Balaguer, located in the Noguera region, is a city with a rich historical and cultural heritage. Besides the Verbena festival, visitors can enjoy its impressive cathedral, the Suda Castle, and its charming cobbled streets. The city offers a wide variety of activities and attractions that make for an unforgettable visit.
