Barruera Fair in the Vall de Boí

Once again , the Barruera Fair is being held in the Boí Valley on the last Sunday of September. This fair features livestock and trade, with local and regional producers exhibiting their products, tasting them, and selling them.

At the beginning of October, the Barruera Fair was held. This was a place of exchange, buying, selling, and socializing among the neighbors of the community formed by the inhabitants of the Boí Valley, where not only animals were traded and traded, but also groceries and all kinds of work tools were purchased.

The Fair offers different activities throughout the days for young and old.

One of the main attractions is the first national cow-herding dog competition, an innovative competition that showcases the animals' skill in herding cattle, in collaboration with the Catalan Federation of the Brown Cow of the Pyrenees.

Visitors can also enjoy craft and agricultural stalls, a livestock exhibition, children's games, and educational activities such as "El Parc és vida" (The Park Is Life), dedicated to promoting the natural heritage of the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. Live music with guest bands will add a festive touch throughout the day.

The cultural program also features prominently, with the presentation of a research project on shepherds' clothing, the screening of the documentary "Transhumance," and other initiatives aimed at preserving and disseminating collective memory.
