Bicycle routes through the Boí Valley

Bicycle routes through the Boí Valley

La Vall de Boí is a mountain place to enjoy with family or friends! And it is above all because it allows a wide range of experiences and in this article we have chosen sport, since sports activities in the mountains, in the middle of nature, are always a good choice.

That is why we propose several signposted routes to do with mountain bikes through the Vall de Boí. You will find from flatter routes along the riverbanks at the bottom of the valley, along paths and forest tracks suitable for the whole family, to more demanding routes, aimed at the most prepared cyclists. is it about? Put on your helmet and goggles let's start!

Boí-Taüll

At the beginning the route follows the road towards the Boí-Taüll ski resort and after 3 km it takes the old track that leads to the station entrance. From this point, you advance inside the station along a dirt track that reaches the Cap de Vacas viewpoint at 2,310 meters above sea level. From this moment, with privileged views, a technical and pronounced descent begins that is carried out largely off the road, between meadows. In the Collada de la Llobarança it links up with the track that acts as a dividing line between the mountains of Durro and Taüll. When it ends, a steep, off-road, technical descent begins again, leading to the ski resort road. Following it, he arrives again at the Pla de la Ermita.

Wildlife Route

R193-fauna-san-Quirc A route that largely follows the Durro Fauna interpretation route and visits the Romanesque hermitage of San Quirc de Durro. It is a short route, although there are sections of the road with very considerable slopes. In the first section, the itinerary runs along the paved track which, in less than 2 km of gentle ascent, leads to the Romanesque hermitage of San Quirc de Durro. From there, a flat stretch of track leads to the start of a path that climbs to the Codó track. From this moment, the descent begins, at first along the track and then along a path that leads to a viewpoint. After this last section of a lot of unevenness, we continue advancing along a wide path through the forest that reaches the Durro track.

The Plans

R193-elsplanos Route that runs through the Barruera, Erill and Salencar de Barruera planes, with practically no slopes, recommended for families. The route follows the Noguera de Tor river: a first section runs along the right bank of the river, making a round trip through the Planes; and a second section, along the left bank, with a circular loop through Salencar.

the culture

R193-skin The route begins in the Plaza de Arriba of Erill la Vall taking a section of traditional path that descends to the road that goes to Boí. Taking extreme precautions, you have to pedal along this route for 300 meters until you reach the start of the Cultia track. Next, the climb begins along the track that maintains a constant and bearable slope at all times. Crossing the Planamolín ravine, the route begins to trace short and continuous detours within the peripheral protection zone of the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. After crossing the head of the Ribampiedro ravine, the track ends in the meadows of the Erill or Basco huts. The descent follows the same itinerary.

Ball game

At its beginning, the route gains height until a crossroads of tracks that we find 4.3 km from the exit. At this point, we leave the track that will be used on the descent, to continue climbing the cattle valley of the Durro mountain. After crossing the Ginebrell ravine, it ascends to the dividing line between the Durro and Taüll mountains. In this section, and with privileged views, the route gives a break, making gentle ups and downs. After passing the Ball Game, a descent begins following a steep track with sharp curves that ends up linking up with the route used on the way up.

In this link you will find all the maps and the technical characteristics of each route.
