The Talltendre Refuge is a cozy accommodation located in the picturesque village of Talltendre, belonging to the municipality of Bellver de Cerdanya, in the Cerdanya region. This refuge offers a unique experience for nature and mountain lovers, providing a quiet and authentic environment to disconnect from the daily routine.

Accommodation at the Talltendre refuge

The refuge has two independent accommodations, called Refugio de la Carbassa and Refugio de Tossal Gros, names that honor two of the most emblematic peaks in the area. These accommodations are located in the same complex and share common spaces such as the garden, the barbecue area and a meeting area equipped with board games and books, offering guests a cozy and familiar atmosphere.

In addition, the shelter is pet-friendly, allowing visitors to enjoy their stay with their pets. In fact, a basket specially designed for them is provided, ensuring that they also enjoy the experience in this natural environment.

Mountain activities and hiking

The privileged location of the Talltendre Refuge makes it an ideal starting point for various mountain and hiking activities. Among the highlights, there is a two-day route that includes:

  • Route to the Engorgs cirque: A tour of the ancient glacial cirque of Engorgs, located at an altitude of 2,530 metres, surrounded by mountains of nearly 3,000 metres, such as Puigpedrós. This route allows you to learn about the geological and human history of the area, as well as enjoy the lakes of glacial origin, the fauna and the high mountain vegetation.
  • Visit to the Anes Cave: An experience that combines hiking through the Llosa Valley with a visit to the Anes Cave, a place full of history and geological knowledge. This activity is suitable for all walkers and lasts approximately 4.5 hours.

The Taltendre environment

Talltendre is a small town located at an altitude of 1,579 metres, on the sunny side of Bellver, at the foot of the Llacuna hill. The town has a 10th century Romanesque church, dedicated to Sant Iscle and Santa Victoria, which is one of the most notable historical vestiges of the area.

Its privileged location offers visitors spectacular views of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, with panoramic views that stretch from the Cadí massif to towns such as Bellver de Cerdanya and Puigcerdà. This natural environment is ideal for various outdoor activities, such as hiking, trekking and observing the native fauna and flora.

Talltendre is also known for growing high-quality turnips, known as Talltendre turnips, which are part of the area's agricultural tradition.

How to get to the Talltendre refuge

To access the Talltendre Refuge, you must reach the village of Talltendre, located 8 kilometres from Bellver de Cerdanya, at an altitude of 1,580 metres. From Bellver, take the national road towards Ordèn and Talltendre, until you reach the village.

Once in the village, the refuge is located in an old Ceretan farmhouse, dating from the 16th century, which has been converted into a high mountain refuge. Its location in the old village of Talltendre makes it an exceptional viewing point of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, offering an ideal environment for rest and relaxation.

In short, the Talltendre Refuge is an excellent option for those looking for authentic and welcoming accommodation in Cerdanya, with multiple options for outdoor activities and a privileged natural environment.
