Prelude, Samba and Swing Workshop - CaixaForum, La Caixa Foundation
Organized by: CaixaForum, Fundació La Caixa
Can you imagine Bach composing a samba or Miles Davis improvising on a Baroque melody? In this workshop for families, we propose a musical journey that unites eras, rhythms, and cultures. Through listening, play, and improvisation, we will discover how such different styles—like Baroque music, ethnic sounds, and swing—converse and how they can transform into one another.
Through small creative exercises, playing, singing, and improvising will be the tools each participant uses to compose their own piece. We will explore what elements these musical languages share, what makes them unique, and how they influence one another.
An experience to enjoy as a family, where music becomes a space for discovery, creativity and connection.
Recommended activity for families with children aged 8 and over.
