Llimiana
The town of Llimiana is a municipality located south of the Pallars Jussà region, in the Pre-Pyrenees area of the province of Lleida.
The municipality of Llimiana is formed by the town, a series of farmhouses called Els Masos de Llimiana, and an aggregation of farmhouses called Els Obacs de Llimiana.
The extension of the term includes a part of the Montsec de Rúbies where we find several sites of interest: the Muricecs cave, the Negra del Montsec cave, the hermitage of Sant Salvador del Bosc, the Cueva del Hielo and the Terradets hydroelectric power station (1935 ).
The village is 790m. on a rocky peak of a mountain range north of the Sierra del Montsec. From its height dominates views of the Valley of Barcedana, the gorge of Terradets and the river Noguera Pallaresa with the reservoir of Cellers.
Llimiana is located in a privileged situation, a rural environment in the middle of the Pre-Pyrenees, mountain slopes and baths in the waters of Noguera Pallaresa. Highlights the landscape and artistic values of the area.
