Eco Càmping Terra del Congost Tremp
Terra del Congost is a project designed with the intention of sharing a lifestyle based on returning to our roots, to the value of simplicity, authenticity, the wild, the natural.
Feel at home. Love and care for it as if it were another member of this ecosystem.
Our philosophy
The love for the earth and all its inhabitants, regardless of species, permeates our entire philosophy. We consider ourselves inhabitants of a space that we share with many other living beings who were here, and will remain, after our passing.
Connecting with nature and the ancestral permeates our lifestyle. Sustainable and ecological self-management, minimal intervention in nature and friendly treatment are the principles that guide the project and the experience we want to offer.
The project
Andrés and Amber came to this land looking for an escape from the frenzy of urban life. In love with this unique place for its energy and panoramic views, they converted, over years of hard work, medieval ruins into a habitable space with basic services, in the middle of a wild, unpopulated and isolated environment.
The desire to share the vital experience of the project opened the door to new partners and collaborators with the same interests. All of them make up the integrative soul of Tierra del Congost and the community that drives the project today, still in its growth phase.
Stunning natural landscapes, lush forests, rivers and swamps, wildlife, medieval villages and Romanesque hermitages.
Where does your exploratory instinct take you?
Mont-Rebei Gorge
The Congost de Mont-Rebei hike, unrivalled for its path that runs between vertical limestone walls of more than 500 metres, is one of the most popular natural destinations in the area. The spectacular views of the gorge, the unmistakable turquoise waters and the ease of access make it an essential destination suitable for all ages and conditions. There you can go hiking, kayaking, paddle surfing or via ferrata. There is something for everyone!
Stairs Swamp
An ideal reservoir for a picnic and shelter from the sun, kayaking or paddle surfing. Adventurers have a pleasant route that starts at an imposing dam (the Escaleras Dam) and crosses a century-old oak forest that will take you to an abandoned village with incredible views… Casterner de les Olles. What more could you ask for on a good day in the mountains?
The Ribagorça river and its ravines
The Ribagorça River has numerous bathing areas, picnic areas and some ravines that flow into it. The pools for bathing are more difficult to find, some dry up in summer and others have complicated or dangerous access. Ask us and we will recommend the secret and safe places that only the villagers know about. Take care of them and respect them!
Montanyana, a medieval story
20 minutes from our farm, you will find a village that is considered the best bastion of medieval history in the area. Located in an idyllic and strategic spot, at the confluence of two ravines, it preserves the authenticity of its few inhabitants and an urban fabric that has remained intact over the years. A true journey to the times of the Order of the Templars, the Muslim invasions and the Reconquista, in which a small town served as an impregnable fortress of a culture and history that are still preserved in stone.
Understand the Cosmos: Montsec Astronomical Park
Tierra del Congost is located in an ideal place for starry sky observation. The natural conditions of Montsec allow it to be sheltered under the best sky in Catalonia and one of the best in the world: low rainfall, high percentage of clear nights, good image stability and above all the confirmation of low light pollution. For these reasons, it was decided to build the Montsec Astronomical Park (PAM).
La Terreta: House of the Vultures
In our area we have the privilege of being able to observe the 4 species of carrion birds of the Pyrenees every day: the griffon vulture, the black vulture, the bearded vulture and the Egyptian vulture. If you don't want to miss them, go up to the Sierra de Sant Gervàs. Its imposing vertical walls provide shelter for all these species and at the Casal dels Voltors you can see how they are fed live through a camera. The Casal also serves as a reception point for visitors and as an information point for the different activities that can be carried out in the La Terreta-Sant Gervás area, which has a large number of trails with different levels of difficulty.
In Terra del Congost you will feel like a traveler who finds a sunset in the middle of nowhere.
Everything you need after your adventure can be found here.
“La Terrassa” Outdoor Dining Room
Inclement weather in any season of the year, under cover on the porch of the Bar Restaurante La Terrassa, is a multi-sensory spectacle. Watching a thunderstorm with an infusion warming your hands; cooling off with a cold beer while the breeze caresses your cheeks in shelter from the sun; soaking up the scent of a spring rain; enjoying a concert with the infinite colours of a sunset as a backdrop. And a magnificent meeting place to share your experience with the rest of the guests!
Panoramic kitchen
We know that an explorer travels light and cannot carry portable refrigerators or stoves and that cooking a hot dinner on the fire can be the best moment of the day after a long excursion.
Preparing your recipes to the rhythm of birdsong and weeds or washing dishes in front of the horizon becomes an experience in itself here.
The Stone Hall
Our living room is the refuge you wish to find on a cold winter night… The smoky fireplace and the smell of wood, the hypnotic flames, the smell of coffee, the starry vault that surrounds everything out there. A perfect place to sit and read, charge your electronic devices, plan your next adventure or share stories with the other guests. Here you will find a bathroom, microwave and Wi-Fi connection, so you don't lose contact with the outside world.
Terra del Congost is an old farm converted into an Eco Camping to accommodate travelers, adventurers and nature lovers in various accommodations and natural camping areas. Txiri's homemade food, the surroundings and the activities in our catalogue will make your stay an unforgettable experience.
We are just 5 km from the Congost de Mont-Rebei natural area and in an area recognised as a Starlight destination by UNESCO, thanks to the optimal conditions for observing the sky and the stars.
