Catalonia Industrial Tourism Week 2026 awaits you!
Step inside a historic factory, discover how a machine works, or hop on a bus without knowing where you'll end up. From October 16 to 25, Industrial Tourism Week 2026 invites you to explore Catalonia with curiosity and discover how things are made. Organized by the Industrial Tourism Network of Catalonia (XATIC), the event will offer ten days of activities in museums, businesses, and heritage sites throughout the region.
If you're looking for a unique getaway or a plan to share with family or friends, mark these dates on your calendar. Visits, workshops, and experiences await you, offering insights into traditional crafts, production processes, and the stories behind our industrial heritage.
From machines to flavors: choose what you want to discover
The program will combine guided tours, interactive workshops, exhibitions, themed routes, family activities, and culinary experiences. It's an invitation to follow the thread of Catalan industry and understand how it has transformed the landscapes and the lives of towns and cities.
Many facilities will offer open days and special programs to see historic machinery up close, learn about old production processes, and discover the relationship between the industrial past and the present. With the motto "Discover how things are made," the Week offers a participatory way to enjoy cultural tourism.
Manresa, starting point of an edition with history
The opening ceremony will take place in Manresa, coinciding with the 200th anniversary of Els Panyos. This is the popular name for the Can Miralda factory, a textile complex that retains its original characteristics and offers a glimpse into the beginnings of Catalan industrialization.
Els Panyos was a "river-powered" factory: it harnessed the energy of the Cardener River to operate. Its inauguration will be part of the bicentennial commemoration, in a setting that helps to understand the role of water in the development of industry.
