Film series From shadows to film: evolution, Vallbona de les Monges

Vallbona de les Monges will host a screening series dedicated to the origins and evolution of cinema under the title "From Shadows to Film: The Evolution of Cinema." The series will take place on April 19, May 17, September 20, and December 20. It will include documentaries, films, and lectures, followed by discussions led by directors, producers, and film critics.

The program begins with Juan Mariné. A Century of Cinema, a documentary that explores the long career of cinematographer Juan Mariné. In May, the film will screen The Art of Light and Shadow, a documentary that explores the origins of cinema and audiovisual media. In September, a lecture on Camera Movements: Languages and Meanings will be given by historian and critic Ignasi Juliàchs. Finally, in December, the film will screen In the Sultan's Bedroom, with a discussion with director Javier Rebollo.

All activities are free and will take place in the Conference Hall. The series is supported by the Vallbona de les Monges City Council, the CIMQ (Center for the Study of Culture), and other cultural organizations.
