Sternalia Productions Barcelona
PRODUCER OF CULTURAL EVENTS
Sternalia Productions is a cultural event production company in Barcelona, known for its ability to organize unique activities in the city's most unique spaces. Founded in 2011 by a group of cultural management experts, Sternalia's main objective is to showcase unique spaces created for civil society from ancient times to the present day.
We bring culture to the city in an enjoyable and accessible way, returning its living heritage to the city and allowing it to be enjoyed.
Various patrons of the arts throughout the ages have created libraries, centers for scientific, literary, and artistic studies, astronomical observatories, art collections, and more to promote the cultural and scientific development of citizens.
We want to share these values, which have made culture a distinguishing feature of each country, through activities that explain the history, culture, gastronomy, and significance of our spaces.
History
We are a local company. We started in Barcelona as a small SME offering guided tours of the Fabra Observatory. Since then, we've grown in every way. Our cultural activities have become incredibly diverse: we've hosted themed dinners linked to each cultural space we manage, such as the Dinner with Stars at the Fabra Observatory.
We have also offered plays, such as "The Last Days of Gaudí" at the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia, concerts, dramatized guided tours, cultural team buildings, conferences, educational workshops, and courses such as those we offer on meteorology and astronomy at the Fabra Observatory.
Cultural spaces where we currently offer our management?
1. The Fabra Observatory
Located at the top of Tibidabo, the Fabra Observatory is one of the oldest still-operating observatories in Europe. Opened in 1904, it combines scientific research in astronomy, meteorology, and seismology with educational outreach, offering guided tours and nighttime activities that allow stargazing through historic telescopes.
2. The Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia
The Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia, located on Carme Street in Barcelona, was the site of the former College of Surgery. Founded in the 18th century, the academy houses an impressive library, an anatomical amphitheater, and a valuable historical heritage that reflects the evolution of medicine in Catalonia.
3. The Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona
Founded in 1764, this institution promotes scientific and cultural progress. Its building on Barcelona's Rambla houses a distinguished conference hall and the famous street clock, which has kept the city's official time since the 19th century. It is also known for its involvement in scientific dissemination.
4. The Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Catalonia
With roots dating back to the 18th century, this academy is a leading center in the pharmaceutical field. Located in the former Hospital de la Santa Cruz, it preserves a valuable pharmaceutical heritage and organizes activities to promote research, teaching, and the preservation of the history of Catalan pharmacy.
5. The Núria Pla House Museum
The Núria Pla House Museum is a hidden gem in the Sarrià neighborhood, dedicated to the memory of this pioneer of the pharmaceutical industry. The space offers insight into the life and career of Núria Pla through original furnishings, old laboratories, and documents that showcase her contributions to science and Catalan society.
