Parròquia de Canillo
Canillo is the highest parish, with 1,526 meters above sea level. They emphasize the Romanesque church of the s. XII of San Juan de Casillas and one of the most important monuments in the country, the Meritxell Sanctuary Basilica, the patron saint of Andorra where Meritxell Day is celebrated here every year, with numerous religious, artistic and formal events.
If what you are looking for is contact with nature, you are in the ideal place, you can visit the ecotourism routes of the Incles Valley and Coma de Ransol, the Juclà lake, the largest in the Principality, or go to the Roc del Quer viewpoint to enjoy the imposing landscapes of the environment. If you don't have vertigo, at the same viewpoint you can cross the Canillo Tibetan Bridge, an impressive structure located in the River Valley with a length of 603 meters, 1 meter wide and up to 158 meters above the ground!
If you prefer to have your feet on the ground, in Canillo you will find the Ice Palace of Andorra and the Grandvalira ski resort where you will also find activities such as the magical gliss, the zip line and Golf Soldeu, the highest golf course in Europe.
