Immerse yourself in the Clos Pachem Winery!

Our history
In 2015, Michel Grupper launched the global winemaking project in Priorat, named Clos Pachem, an acronym for his children's names: Paul, Charles, and Emma. A winery focused on its people, the history of Priorat, and a sustainable farming philosophy, this allows for the creation of subtle, elegant wines that inspire experiences and accompany unique moments.
The vision of this project is to promote Priorat and its wonders, supporting wine tourism and integrating a winery with sustainable architecture that respects the region into its landscape. Our winery serves Priorat, not the other way around.
Built with simple, durable, natural materials, the building blends seamlessly into the historic center of Gratallops, inviting visitors to explore the winery through an interior passageway, designed as a public space and welcome area.
This is an accessible, welcoming winery open to all who want to discover or rediscover Priorat and its many facets.
In short, Clos Pachem is a global project that aims to create sensational experiences and produce wines that accompany unique moments because we fell in love with Priorat, just as Michel Grupper did.
Clos Pachem is made up of people who share common values and a strong sense of purpose. We create a multidisciplinary and versatile environment, while ensuring the well-being of people and our natural resources.
The Planassos estate, located in the municipality of Gratallops, is the heart of our wines and a living representation of Priorat's biodiversity.
Five hectares of vineyards, olive trees, and almond trees grow on licorella soil and share space with a multitude of native plants and a wide variety of wild animals, creating this landscape of such beauty and survival.
Working the land with respect, using organic and biodynamic practices, where the life of our environment and our vines is a priority. The fruit that is harvested one day will be the liquid of our passion.
Within the estate, we find different orientations, heights and depths of the land and, therefore, a variability of microclimates that makes the Garnacha and Cariñena grapes, for the most part, develop in very different ways.
This year-over-year learning from the estate teaches us to understand it and to act when shaping our wines. The land gives back what you give it, and Planassos gives love, the love of wine.
Wines
The vineyard is the cradle of our wines. The Planassos estate, located in Gratallops, is a living example of our philosophy: caring for the land and vineyards using organic and biodynamic practices, promoting biodiversity, and becoming part of the complexity of nature .
Five hectares of vineyards, olive and almond trees rooted in slate soil share the landscape with a multitude of native plants and a wide variety of wild animals, creating this landscape of such beauty and survival.
Working the land with respect, using ecological and biodynamic practices, we give life to our environment and our vines to obtain the fruit that, once harvested, will be the liquid of our passion.
Within the estate, we find different orientations, heights, and depths of the land, generating a variability of microclimates that makes the Garnacha and Cariñena grapes, for the most part, develop in very different ways.
This year-over-year learning from the estate helps us understand and act when shaping our wines. The land gives back what you give it, and Planassos gives love, the love of wine.
Our goal is simple: to give back to nature what it gives us: respect and love for wine.
Clos Pachem wines aim to reflect a landscape and a people fascinated by the climate and soils of Priorat. Our wines aim to showcase the most subtle side of Priorat, without sacrificing the power of its soil.
Architecture
Sustainability. This is the word that defines our path. With the help of the prestigious Barcelona-based Harquitectes studio, the dream of sustainable architecture became a reality.
Our winery, located in the village of Gratallops, in the heart of the DOQ Priorat, is a good synthesis of what we aim for at Clos Pachem: to produce good wines, and to do so while scrupulously respecting our environment.
If we opt for biodynamic and organic farming on land, sustainable architecture has set the standard for us at the winery. Winery and farming are two sides of the same coin, a true reflection of our way of doing things and being.
The building blends seamlessly into the historic centre of Gratallops, inviting pedestrians to explore the winery through an interior passageway, conceived as a welcoming public space.
A large warehouse dedicated to wine fermentation is the central space of the project, with thick walls and multiple air chambers, which allow 100% natural cooling of the entire building and complete hydrothermal stability.
