Aran Park (Bossòst)
In Bossòst, on the road to the Portilhon pass, Aran Park invites you to discover mountain wildlife in the wooded setting of the Vall d'Aran. At an altitude of 1,200 meters, this wildlife park offers a walk to enjoy with family, as a couple, or with friends, with time to stop, observe, and be amazed.
Brown sheep, wolves, lynxes, otters, and marmots are some of the stars of the trail. You'll also find deer, mouflon, chamois, and vultures, among other species. Seeing them invites you to notice the details: a glance, a footprint, a way of moving. Bring your binoculars and get ready to discover all that often goes unnoticed.
The visit is done on foot and lasts approximately one and a half to two hours. The path, paved and without steps, is suitable for strollers. Halfway along the route, a picnic area offers the opportunity to take a break and prolong the pleasure of being in the mountains.
The experience continues at the interpretation center, located in a former Civil Guard barracks. Here you can learn to recognize sounds, distinguish fur and antlers, and discover animal habitats. This engaging activity adds context to the visit and sparks questions from both young explorers and adults.
To make the most of your visit, arrive early: the park recommends the morning, when the animals are usually more active and the temperature is cooler. Check the opening hours before you go and allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy your visit at a leisurely pace. Aran Park is an invitation to slow down, observe carefully, and return home with new discoveries.
