Maials Green Oil Fair
Maials will celebrate this year the 27th edition of the Green Oil Fair on November 16 and 17, 2024!
The Maials Green Oil Fair is an unmissable event for all lovers of extra virgin olive oil. This fair, which has been growing year after year, is known for its quality and welcoming atmosphere that it offers to visitors. For two days, the town becomes the nerve centre of olive production, with activities and exhibitions that revolve around this precious product.
One of the main attractions of the fair are the local exhibitors, who present their newly harvested oils. Visitors have the opportunity to taste and buy high-quality extra virgin olive oils directly from the producers. This direct interaction allows them to learn first-hand about the production processes and characteristics that make these oils unique.
The Green Oil Fair is not only a trade fair, but also a party for the whole family. Among the scheduled activities, there are guided olive oil tastings, cooking competitions, children's workshops and cooking demonstrations. These events allow visitors to learn more about olive oil and its many applications in the kitchen.
Guided tastings are one of the most eagerly awaited activities of the fair. Expert olive growers lead sessions where they explain the different varieties of oil and teach how to distinguish their organoleptic characteristics. In addition, cooking competitions, where the best recipes made with olive oil are awarded, are a great attraction for amateur and professional cooks.
Olive oil is a key element of the Mediterranean diet, recognised worldwide for its health benefits. At the Maials Green Oil Fair, this product is valued not only for its gastronomic properties, but also for its nutritional benefits. Visitors can learn about the advantages of consuming olive oil and how it contributes to a balanced and healthy diet.
The fair also has a significant impact on the local economy. During the days of the fair, Maials receives a large influx of visitors who contribute to the trade and catering of the municipality. In addition, the event serves to promote local products and to make known the cultural and gastronomic wealth of the Segrià region.
Don't miss it!
