Vilalba Sasserra

It is located in the Vallès Oriental and borders the municipalities of Vallgorguina to the east and northeast, with Dosrius to the southeast, Llinars del Vallès to the southwest and northwest and Santa Maria de Palautordera to the north.

It has an extension of 5.87 Km2. Its altitude oscillates between 170m to the nucleus of the population and more than 640m in the mountain range of the corridor (coastal mountain range).

The sector more azimut, approximately from 400 m. It is included within the area of influence of the Montnegre Corredor Natural Park.

The mountainous system in which Vilalba Sasserra is inscribed is a distant derivation of a spur of the Sierra del Cadí that stretches to the Montseny. A branch of this system separates the Besós and Tordera basins.

Formerly the population center was known by the name of Trentapasses.

The neck of trentapasses, at a height around 200 m. in the place of the Geriatric Residence, it is the point of union between the Montseny and the Litoral Mountain Range. He marks the divide that separates the basin of the Tordera, which faces North and that of the Mogent, which faces South.

Vilalba Sasserra is 46 km from Barcelona and 18 km from Granollers.

The farmhouses, and the sources of Can Gol and of the Island mark the routes of hikers and curious people. The most important monument of the village, however, is located under a large pine tree, on the road of Ca l'Adrià: it is the Arca stone, a dolmen at the end of the Neolithic, proof of the prehistoric settlements.
