Vallfogona de Balaguer

The municipality of Vallfogona de Balaguer is located in SE Balaguer, in a plain that enters land of Urgell. The municipality comprises the town of Vallfogona addition, the core of the Ràpita and Hostal Nou and Codosa.

The parish church of the late eighteenth century is dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, renovated from the inside, in 1976 with a striking stained glass representation of Archangel Michael from Paradise. The village is organized around a wide barstante Main Street as part of an ancient ravine. Currently the village has basic services such as kindergartens, primary schools, medical center, spaces for the elderly, as well as several sports facilities. The inhabitants are characterized by an important implication in the town through various organizations and associations of cultural and sporting character.

The people of the Rápita is located NE of the town, on a hill surrounded by intensive irrigated crops that use water channel Urgell and the parish church is dedicated to St. Margaret.'s Core has a primary school, sports hall, social club, medical center and the Agricultural Training School. The people of the Hostal Nou Codosa and is located in the NW of the municipality directly bordering the end of Balaguer , on both sides of the C-53. Traditions and festivals to be highlighted as unique tradition of these regions are the popular "Planted Poplar" which is fetching the river at night and the highest poplar, cut it and bring it hard and planting, with the help of ropes, in the center of town, but on the eve of the festival of May, and cut back on the eve of the Festival next September.
