Pedrolo Tàrrega Route

The Pedrolo Tàrrega Route is born from a selection of fragments of the work of M. de Pedrolo where the city of Tàrrega appears, made by Xavier García and published in the book-box Tàrrega, city of Mecanowritten. Pedrolo: step by step, word by word (Tàrrega 2018). In total, the Route signage adds twenty-three appointments that correspond to twelve locations in our city.

The passages are explicit references to locations in the capital of Urgell. Furthermore, within the Pedrolo Route, the Typewritten Itinerary has been included, identified with different typography and color, and with implicit allusions to the city of the novel, Benaura, identified as Tàrrega.

The images that illustrate the points of the Route are photographs of the places mentioned at the time the author was speaking, some of them in past times, or caricatures of Pedrolo. In addition, vignettes from the comic Mecanoscrit of the Second Origin, by illustrator Isidre Monés, published in 1984 by L'Azar, have been included.

  • The Route can be followed in the order convenient for the visitor, since they do not respond to any thematic or chronological sequence.
  • Apart from the marked points of the Route, we must mention the house of the Pedrolo family, with plans to become a house museum, which is located at numbers 5 and 7
    of Main Street.
  • Beyond the Pedrolo de Tàrrega Route, the visitor can approach the Concabella castle, where the permanent exhibition of the Pedrolo Space is located, and the writer's birthplace, Aranyó, both in the neighboring region of La Segarra.
