Exhibition: The Cultivation of Cereals. Work and Memory in Dialogue
From March 7 to May 18, 2025
The exhibition explains the cereal cultivation cycle, which once dominated the town of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, highlighting the importance of the work, tools used, and experiences associated with farming. The project also focuses on recovering farm tools and labor, documenting and displaying some pieces from the ethnological collection of the Museum of Work and Living Industry (MTIV).
The exhibition, the result of a series of conversations held at the MTIV, establishes a dialogue among citizens around a topic as relevant as the local peasantry. It is the first in a series of conversations "Work and Memory in Dialogue" that will take place annually and give voice to the oral memory of the municipality. The objective: to contribute historical value, humanity, and memory to diverse realities, often not captured in books or other written texts.
This exhibition inaugurates the Sala Lanzadera, the MTIV's new temporary exhibition hall. Starting March 7, it will host an annual program of exhibitions related to the history of labor and local history from all its dimensions and as a reflection of contemporary society.
